REFLEXOLOGY has a positive role to play within MATERNITY CARE. Reflexology can be used to maintain relaxation and wellbeing in the mother, to balance energy and to assist the body’s healing processes with such conditions as haemorrhoids, back ache, constipation, indigestion and headaches. Treatment sessions following the birth are beneficial in aiding healing processes, assisting with lactation and providing the mother with some well earned recuperation time!  Mirimiri and romiromi massage is now available 
at Hukanui Body Therapies. Moana has trained in these traditional methods of ancient Maori healing and is offering an introductory special this month.
Mirimiri is a softer style of massage and works to bring your mauri (life force) and wairua (spirit) back into balance. As with mirimiri, romiromi works with haemata (pressure points).
Romiromi is deep tissue massage which helps to release tension in muscles and release blocked energy.
